The GE Edison Awards
This annual competition, sponsored by GE, recognizes excellence and quality in professional lighting designs that employ significant use of GE Lighting Products, including, but not limited to, GE LED systems, LED luminaires, LED architectural products, LED lamps and modules, lighting controls and non-LED lamps and luminaires ("GE Lighting Products").
Congratulations to Robert Shook, Maureen Mahr, Jennifer Curtis and Kimberley Corbett-Oates of Schuler Shook (Chicago, Illinois, USA) for winning the 2013 GE Edison Award for lighting City Performance Hall in Dallas, Texas, USA. A personalized Steuben crystal was presented by GE Lighting on June 2, 2014 in Las Vegas, USA.The entry deadline for the 31st Annual GE Edison Awards was 21 January 2014. Eligible projects will be those completed between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014, and that employ significant use of GE Lighting Products.
Qualifying projects are eligible for the awards indicated below. The annual GE Edison Award winner is chosen from the winners of Awards of Excellence.

Entries are judged on the following criteria: functional excellence; architectural compatibility; effective use of state-of-the-art lighting products (predominantly GE Lighting Products) and techniques; appropriate color, form and texture revelation; energy effectiveness and cost effectiveness.
Projects scoring the highest number of points qualify for Awards of Merit and Awards of Excellence. The judges may also select Awards for Environmental Design and an Award for Residential Design based on the presence of entries that encompass the exemplary and outstanding design features that support each category. GE reserves the right to not make an award in one or more categories.

Winning projects receive Awards of Excellence, Awards of Merit, Awards for Environmental Design and/or an Award for Residential Design. The GE Edison Award Winner is selected from among the Awards of Excellence.
Designers of the winning projects receive personalized plaques in recognition of their lighting design achievements. GE reserves the right to not make an award in one or more categories.
The GE Edison Award Winner receives a personalized Steuben crystal trophy and continued publicity throughout the following year. A distinctive plaque is also presented to the owner of the winning installation.
Winners and qualifying entrants are recognized at a private event, which is held annually on the evening prior to the opening of LightFair International.
