Start your shorter day the right way
29 October, 2020

Now that the days are shorter, it’s important to make the most of them. Here are some easy ways you can maximize your A.M. and have a “carpe diem” kind of morning!

Switch up your alarm

The time change can throw your circadian rhythm out of sync. Luckily, there are more natural ways to get up and at ’em. Using the C by GE App, you can schedule your C by GE Tunable White Smart Bulbs to turn on gradually. It’s a peaceful way to start your day feeling refreshed, and it definitely beats hearing the same ringtone every morning.

Stay hydrated

Keep a glass of water on your nightstand, so you can rehydrate first thing. Your body will appreciate the much-needed fluids. Some studies have even shown that drinking water first thing can sharpen your focus.

Get moving

After your well-earned hours of inactivity, it’s important to get the blood flowing again. No need for a full sun salutation—just some small movements can help relax stiff muscles, prevent injuries, and keep you in fighting shape for the day ahead.

Adjust your attitude

Whether you’re a morning person or not, it’s important to start every day fresh. To get up on the right side of the bed, if you will. Maybe you have a positive-thinking mantra you say out loud—a simple phrase like “I got this” can work wonders. Hey, don’t knock it until you try it!

With this new morning routine, shorter days have nothing on you. Go on, shine bright—and let’s do it all again tomorrow.
