• To maximize reflected light and save on your electric bill, use light-colored cabinets, ceiling and floor surfaces.
 
• Under-cabinet fixtures should be mounted as close as possible to the front edge of the cabinet to avoid glare on the work surface. Use 2 watts of electricity for every linear foot of counter space.
 
• Use GE Reveal reflector bulbs for recessed downlights to accentuate your kitchen cabinets. Place 6 to 8 feet apart for even illumination.
