GE scores highest in a recent 'Which? best buys' report on CFL Low Energy Light Bulbs

GE was rated one of the best performers in November's influential consumer Which? insight report on CFL low energy light bulbs. GE's Mini Eco and Elegance T3 were named 'best buys' whilst the GE Electronic was voted "one of the best performing lightbulbs in cold conditions." GE's Electronic T3 scored 76 per cent - the highest rating of all CFL low energy light bulbs tested.

Elegance T3
Awarded 76 per cent in the low energy light bulb sector and given 'Which?'s best buy' award the Elegance T3 is either helix or twisted tube shaped, offers the same light output as a typical incandescent bulb and can be used with timers.
The Elegance T3 has an estimated lifetime of 6,000 hours, however 'Which?'s' report states "they easily exceeded this claim, and almost managed our stringent 8,000 hour milestone - offering an impressive two years more light than promised."
'Which?' awarded GE's Elegance T3 five stars for lifetime, as well as performance when switching on and off. Five stars were also awarded for construction and efficiency, and four stars were given for light output, safety, dimming over time and environmental information.

Mini Eco
Scoring 70 per cent, 'Which?' awarded GE's Mini Eco as another 'best buy' in the low energy light bulb sector. Available in nine, 11 and 20 Watts, the Mini Eco is tube shaped and again, gives off the same colour light as a typical incandescent bulb.
The Eco Mini was awarded five stars for performance when switched on and off, as well as construction. The report also stated that Mini Eco light bulbs have "excellent lifetimes", which also scored five stars in 'Which?'s' ratings.
GE claims Mini Eco light bulbs have a lifetime of 6,000 hours (or approximately six years); 'Which?'s' recent report states they "don't struggle to match their claims." Additionally, the tests carried out by 'Which?' revealed that two of the three wattages almost made the stringent 8,000 hour milestone, "offering an excellent eight year life expectancy."
The Mini Eco also scored four stars for performance in the 'dimming over time' category, as well as four stars for light output, safety and environmental information.

Electronic
GE's Electronic low energy light bulb scored 58 per cent in the recent 'Which?' report and were rated as one of the "best performing bulbs on test on cold conditions." The report also states that the Electronic stands up well to being switched on and off (scoring five stars) and offers good light output (scoring four stars). The Electronic also scored four stars for the following categories: dimming over time, safety and environmental information.
The 'Which?' report also highlights that all the GE lamps tested are sold in easily recyclable paper packaging.
