The GE Lighting stand at this year’s Light+Building will guide visitors through the company’s latest lighting innovations, including LED technology breakthroughs and solutions for retail, hotels and street lighting.

GE Lighting has launched a new range of ConstantColor CMH Ultra lamps specifically developed for retail applications. The new lamps provide a long life of 15,000 hours and four times the efficiency of halogen lamps. Whilst working as a producer on Channel 4’s Grand Designs, Clare Fisher realised the potential benefits of using LED technology to provide energy efficient quality lighting in a domestic build.

Clare met Jon Baker of Design 360 during the development of a Grand Designs project in which he was exclusively using GE Lighting’s award winning Vio LEDs.

A total of 98 LED luminaires were installed in the Marlborough Farmhouse, which featured on the Grand Designs TV program.

The interior of a large new-build house has been lit entirely with LED downlights, chosen in preference to 50 W halogen lamps.
