Lucalox E-Z Lux
Lucalox E-Z Lux (E-Z is pronounced "easy") is a high pressure sodium lamp which can be used
with mercury ballasts so provides a simple way of upgrading mercury lighting with changing the
control gear. This is possible because the lamps include an internal ignitor. Such lamps are marked
"I" in an inverted triangle because they should not be inserted into socket connected to an
external ignitor.
There are two ratings: E-Z Lux 110W can replace 125W mercury lamps producing 40%
more light at 15W less per lamp.
E-Z Lux 215W can replace 250W mercury lamp producing 38% more light at 35W less per
lamp.
E-Z Lux lamps are available with
diffuse elliptical bulbs only.
Lucalox lamps, with the exception
of Classique, have relatively poor colour rendering, and all Lucalox lamps are of a very warm
appearance. This limits the interior application to such locations as warehouses, sports halls,
transport termini, etc.
