Product for your Home - Incandescent

GE incandescent lamps trace their ancestry to the world´s first practical electric bulb, invented by Thomas Alva Edison, founder of General Electric Company, in 1879.

Incandescent

More than a century of research and development later, our current range of GE incandescent lamps represent state-of-the-art lamps for residential and commercial use, as well as special purpose lamps for decorative and display applications.

Today's incandescent bulb houses a tungsten filament. When charged with electric current, the filament becomes white hot, and glows through a process called incandescence. Incandescent lighting is the most prevalent form of lighting today due to it's flexibility and cost.

Incandescent lamps are commonly available in a large variety of size, shape, colour and wattage offering a wide range of application opportunities from home lighting to medical to industrial uses.
