Today's incandescent bulb houses a tungsten filament. When charged with electric current, the filament becomes white hot, and glows through a process called incandescence. Incandescent lighting is the most prevalent form of lighting today due to it's flexibility and cost.

Incandescent lamps are commonly available in a large variety of size, shape, colour and wattage offering a wide range of application opportunities from home lighting to medical to industrial uses.
