GE Lighting Awards

GE Hospitality Lighting PIA Award - Heather Wilson

Highlighting its continuous commitment to next-generation LED lighting solutions, GE Lighting has been awarded a 2013 Architectural SSL magazine Product Innovation Award (PIA) for its Marriott International headquarters LED lighting project.

GE's Marriott project was recognized for the “Most Energy Efficient Use of SSL” by Architectural SSL.

A leading lodging company with more than 3,700 properties in over 70 countries and territories, Marriott International, Inc. worked with GE Lighting to complete a corporate campus-wide lighting update at its Bethesda, Md. headquarters. Security and energy savings were top priorities when considering new lighting to cover the nearly 2 million square feet (45 acres) of parking and garage space at Marriott headquarters.

After testing competitive exterior garage fixtures, parking lot lights and contemporary post tops, Marriott selected GE's family of high-efficiency Evolve™ LED lighting systems. Following its corporate campus-wide lighting update, Marriott will use 860,000 fewer kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity and save more than $120,000 in combined energy and maintenance costs a year.

The Architectural SSL PIA awards program was established to recognize innovative developments in the LED lighting market. For more information, visit www.architecturalssl.com.
