Course Description

This comprehensive course is designed to provide participants with an in-depth and intense final review, prior to taking the Lighting Certified (LC) exam administered by the National Council on the Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP). A panel of experts will provide an overview of subject matter identified by NCQLP in the examination content outline. After this course, participants should be familiar with the scope of topics that may be included in the LC exam that is offered in November, identifying areas for further independent study. In addition, they will become more familiar with the basics of how to take a test to optimize time utilization. Prior to taking this course, participants are strongly encouraged to review primary reference materials recommended by NCQLP for a more engaging experience with this course. (This course is not associated with NCQLP. Completion of this course does not guarantee that the participant will pass the LC exam.)

Learning Objectives

  • Review a broad range of relevant LC exam material based on recommended study guides and reading materials to reinforce understanding and to uncover subject matter deficiencies.
  • Understand the format of the LC exam to best utilize the time allotted for completing the exam.
  • Create a study group network to facilitate final content reviews.

Course Starting/Concluding Times

The starting and concluding times for each course may vary, but the usual starting time each day is 8:00 a.m. with the bus departing from the hotel at approximately 7:30 a.m. The daily concluding time is usually 5:00 p.m. except when evening events such as refreshments and dinners are scheduled. The exact times will be listed in your confirmation packet that you will receive three weeks prior to your course. Please verify exact times before making your airline reservations.
