McDonald's adopts LED technology by GE in 40 Brazilian units

São Paulo, October X, 2014 – By the end of 2014, forty McDonald's restaurants in Brazil will be equipped with LED technology by GE Lighting for lighting their external areas, including the parking lot and drive-thru. The lights to be installed either in new units or for retrofit of the already existing ones will generate savings of up to 80% in the electric power consumption generated by the external lighting of each restaurant as a part of the company's sustainability policy.

About the Evolve LED ERS Cobrahead Modular light

Since local streets to roads, the Evolve™ LED Roadway Cobrahead Modular lights by GE Lighting are changing the way to light roads. GE combined the technical needs of a sophisticated LED system with the functional demands of public lights required during the whole year in relation to the weather threads, preserving the esthetics of the traditional Cobrahead lights and with five-year warranty. The advanced LED optical design by GE offers hundreds of photometric options to fulfill the most precise lighting requirements, while offering reduction in glare and improved lighting control. The refined thermal management system incorporates a shiny and robust heat dissipater directly in the lights, in order to assure maximum heat transfer and long life to the LEDs. In addition, the solution is provided with standard surge arrester, which protects the equipment in up to 120 surges, increasing the product reliability.
