GE displays its comprehensive retail offering
Frankfurt, Germany, April 2012 - Creating visually appealing displays is a key point for success in the retail segment. GE Lighting understands the complexities of lighting the retail environment. The company will be showcasing its comprehensive range of LED and CMH solutions, allowing retailers to easily upgrade and benefit from energy savings as well as unrivalled light quality in every aspect of retail merchandising.
Retail applications require a wide range of energy efficient solutions that can enhance people's lighting experience, whilst at the same time reducing carbon emissions and maintenance costs. This year's GE Lighting booth at Light+Building reflects these needs with many innovative lighting solutions specifically designed for retail applications.
GE Lighting's range of Infusion™ LED modules have been significantly extended and upgraded. The extended range provides a complete toolkit to the designer when specifying track/accent lighting as well as ambient lighting applications using downlights. The module provides the freedom to create attention-grabbing displays, with the flexibility to vary colour temperatures, beam angles and light packages by simply swapping modules.
New additions to the range include: the Infusion Downlight Module, offering an unrivalled combination of efficiency and CRI, the Infusion Punch system, where innovative GE optics allow extremely narrow, high intensity accent beams, and the high lumen Infusion M4500 series. The additions to the InfusionTM range also represents a significant milestone in the standardisation of LEDs, as the range will comprise the first GE Lighting LED Modules meeting the approved standards of the Zhaga Consortium shown at Light+Building.
This enables fixture manufacturers to specify their LED light source with confidence knowing that it is future-proofed and fully interchangeable. GE Lighting is also taking advantage of this benefit by introducing its own range of quality LED downlights based on Infusion™ modules as the light source.
At Light+Building GE Lighting will also be showcasing its new Lumination® LED Luminaires range. The ground breaking application of LED technology offers the first true alternative to LFL lighting for retail environments - making significant energy savings a commercial reality and introducing full dimming capability and unrivalled architectural styling to both retrofit and new build projects.
LED technology is also ideal for freezer and chiller cabinet lighting, with supermarket chain Picard already reaping the benefits. GE Lighting's Refrigerated Display Lighting systems require no time to heat up and are unsusceptible to the cold or multiple ‘turn on, turn off' – meaning they overcome the age-old problems associated with using fluorescent lamps in cold environments.
If changing directly to LEDs would seem a step too big for the business, an ideal solution for retail applications is the CMH lamp. Switching to GE Lighting's CMH Ultra range of 70W and 35W lamps means benefitting from the great technology that offers outstanding performance in terms of colour rendering, lumen output and reliability. The lamps offer a true representation of all colours in the spectrum to meet critical colour requirements and provide consistent colour uniformity, which is crucial in a retail environment.
With 15000hrs of life, the GE CMH Ultra lamps provide extra-long life - reducing maintenance cycles - and brilliant lumen performance, resulting in 30% extra lumens at end of life when compared with standard CMH lamps. Major retailers, such as John Lewis in the UK, are already switched on to the benefits of CMH Ultra lamps.
GE Lighting is a leader in the retail lighting arena, so in addition to the retail lighting solutions on display, there will be a full day on the booth dedicated to retail; with expert seminars on the key issues and hot topics of the business taking place on Tuesday 17th April.
