On May 24th, 2012, the Deutscher Lichtdesign-Preis 2012 was presented at a gala-night in Curio Haus in Hamburg (Germany). The much coveted prize for lighting design projects was awarded in thirteen categories with GE Lighting as one of the sponsors of the event.
Axel Bach, the General Manager of GE Lighting Germany, Austria and Switzerland, presented the prizes to the winners of the categories "Museums" and "Light art". In the category "Museums", the Deutscher Lichtdesign-Preis 2012 was given to the Lichtvision Design & Engineering GmbH. The company Cybulska + Partner was happy about the forwarded prize in the category "Light art" for its lighting concept "Magische Orte – Gasometer" in Oberhausen (Germany).
This is how Frank Weiss talks about the Deutscher Lichtdesign-Preis 2012: "The quality of the awarded projects is impressive. The awarded projects are not only characterized by a first-class lighting design, but also by an excellent integration in the architecture of the spaces. The international character of the projects is surprising. Certainly, the decision for the jury wasn't easy this year."
