GE Lighting: A new leader in LED control gear


FRANKFURT, GERMANY, APRIL 2012- At Light+Building 2012 GE Lighting is showcasing its new range of LED Electronic Drivers, following its recently completed acquisition of Lightech, an advanced lighting technology leader that specializes in the development of LED electronic control gear for the latest LED lighting applications. This is a big step forward in GE's efforts to lead and win the lighting revolution.

Lightech has deep domain expertise in LED control gear and a reputation for high quality and innovative design. High efficiency power supplies that can accommodate control interfaces are a critical cornerstone for GE's solutions based strategy and will help accelerate the development of fully integrated LED systems.

GE Lighting showcased its new range of LED Electronic Drivers at Light+Building 2012

Combining GE's legacy power electronics design capability with the high efficiency power supplies and controllability offered by the new GE Lightech products, positions GE to more quickly respond to market needs with complete systems and higher performance drivers and controls.

GE's high quality LED Electronic Drivers are available in Constant Current and Constant Voltage varieties; non-dimming and dimming drivers; phase-control, trailing edge or 1-10v dimming; and various application specific products, including those designed for the signage market. DALI versions are also in development.

A key product within the range is the LiteBeetle driver series which allows for the easy installation of LED downlights, has the ability to power dimmable lamps and is available in highly efficient 350, 500, and 700mA versions.
12W LED drivers are made to support smaller light sources, fitting in more narrow spaces – while 18-36W drivers work well with LED downlights & spotlights, with high efficiency & power factor.
